Together penned Max’s new single, ‘Here For Christmas.’

Phil Springer has a career spanning 70 years and is credited in 540 musical pieces, including compositions for numerous singers such as Elvis Presley and  Frank Sinatra.

Mike Read is an English producer and songwriter, radio DJ, writer, TV presenter, best known as BBC Radio 1 DJ & host of music TV Series Top of the Pops. As a songwriter, Mike has had his songs recorded by such artists as Cliff Richard, Don McLean, Gene Pitney, David Essex, Steve Winwood, Brian Wilson and Barry & Robin Gibb.

Max Restaino hails from Sheffield, UK Alongside his beautifully smooth voice, he plays: saxophone, guitar, piano, harmonica, accordion and ukulele. Max is a well-respected name in the music biz thanks to his hard graft and talent, which has seen him work with the likes of Gregory Porter (who he played sax for) Comedian Peter Kay (TV hit Car Share & Live Show Phoenix Nights) Donny Osmond, Olly Murs and Gary Barlow, who he played accordion for on his hit song, Let Me Go and more recently on

Gary’s new album ‘Music Played by Humans’ Max has also spent the last few years touring with his band, building up his following and discovering his

sound, supporting acts such as Tears For Fears, UB40, Peter Andre, Steps & Shane Filan amongst many others. He has also won many awards including a PRS Songwriting award, which came as a result of Max being featured in a SKY TV programme called Tin Pan Alley, which Mike Read produced.

Mike Read comments:

“A couple of years ago we produced a TV series for songwriters and

discovered Max. An unassuming guy with enormous talent, a great singer and multi-instrumentalist. As part of the show Max recorded a fantastic version of

‘Lover in London’, a song I wrote with Phil Springer, the oldest living legendary songwriter (NB: also appears on the Christmas EP). Phil was so impressed that the

three of us ended up writing this Christmas song! While Max and I have just written a song that we’re sure Sinatra would have recorded had he still been around. I hope his new release makes it a Maximus Christmas.”

It’s been an honour for Max to write with Mike and Phil. Phil is now 94 years old and lives in LA and knows a thing or two about writing Christmas songs, his song ‘Santa Baby’ has been covered by some of the biggest artists in the industry from Eartha Kitt, Michael Buble, Ariana Grande, Kylie, Taylor Swift and countless more. It will go down in history as an iconic classic Christmas hit record. Max is the new generation of song writing talent and has arguably learnt from the best! American composer Phil Springer had originally written Max’s new single ‘Here for Christmas’ in 1948! But it didn’t have any lyrics, he knew it was special but stored it away and then 72 years later sent it to Max, who fell in love with it straight away and instantly wrote the chorus and then worked with Mike Read on the rest of the lyrics. The result is a jazz / pop infused Christmas cracker of a song combining the sound of a classic golden era with Max’s modern-day interpretation which showcases his effortless, soulful, smooth vocals.

The composer of ‘Santa Baby’ Phil Springer comments:

“It’s been great fun working with Max and Mike in this overseas.
